COMPARISON OF
Canadian Single Layer Grease Duct Systems

There are a variety of issues to consider when comparing single layer grease ductwrap systems but the largest single question that arises is ‘Is It Properly Installable?’

While some product testers may be able to muscle 5” width of very high density insulation into a 3” space, is it really responsible to believe that an installer will properly do this in your building?

The main considerations for single layer systems are the following:

  • Can the product really be installed as listed?
  • Are the sides of the ductwork accessible for allowing listed compression of the product?
  • Is it reasonable for a single installer to handle heavy insulation in excess of 8lb. cu. ft. density?
  • Does the system listing allow for low clearance at flange locations?

CL4FIRE Single Layer Grease Duct System Advantages

  • Joints require only half the compression of other Canadian Grease Duct Systems (1” v/s 2”)
  • 8lb. density CL4FIRE insulation for reduced weight both for both the product installer and also on the duct.
  • Can be used in 2 or 3-sided ductwork installations
  • Clearance requirements at flanges can be reduced by slitting the insulation for up to ½ the material thickness for installation over ductwork flanges.
