Listed, tested and rated by QAI (a global, independent, third party testing facility) and by CCMC (CANADIAN CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS CENTER) for 0mm from outside of insulation to combustible using 1-layer of CL4FIRE-RED or CL4FIRE-CODE-1.5'(38mm) on the inside layer and 1-layer of CL4FIRE-RED or CL4-961.5"(38mm)on the exterior layer for a total of 3"-(75mm) thickness overall. The 2 layers of 1.5"(38mm) can be either compressed at the butt joint or overlapped minimum 3"(76mm) at horizontal and vertical seams.
DATA PAGE: CL4FIRE-RED: See Product Data Sheet Tab
Evaluated by CCMC(CANADIAN CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS CENTER - division of CANADIAN NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL) as a fire protection duct Wrap to meet the Canadian Building Code.
Rated for 9"(229mm) clearance from duct to combustible using 1-layer CL4FIRE CODE 96 on the inside layer. A second layer of CL4FIRE CODE 96 on the exterior layer for a total of 76mm(3") is only needed to cover the area that is within 9"(229mm) from combustibles. See the link for CCMC Canadian Compliance Evaluation 14382-R for details and drawing.
Systems that prevent external fires from penetrating ventilation air ducts- 1 or 2-hour fire rated ventilation air ducts. To obtain a 1-hour fire rating, apply 1 layer of CL4FIRE-RED 1.5" (38mm) with compressed butt joint. For a 2-hour Fire Rating, apply 1 layer of CL4FIRE-RED 1.5"(38mm) with all horizontal and vertical joints overlapped by minimum of 3"(75mm).

CL4Fire Code-96™ Grease Duct Insulation System
Listed System: Code-96™
Evaluated by the CCMC as the only fire protection ductwrap product verified to meet Canadian Building Code Requirements
NOTICE: FIRE TESTING STANDARDS REQUIRE THE FIREWRAP TO BE INSTALLED CONTINUOUSLY ALONG THE DUCTWORK IN THE SAME MANNER AS A GYPSUM SHAFT INTERMITTENT INSTALLATION IS NOT ALLOWED.
- Rated for 229mm (9”) clearance from duct to combustibles using 1-layer of CL4FIRE Code-96™ Rated for 0mm clearance from outside of insulation to combustibles using 1-layer of CL4FIRE Red or CL4FIRE Code-96™ on the inside layer and 1-layer of CL4FIRE Code-96™ on the exterior layer for a total of 76mm (3”) thickness overall.
- Exterior steel chicken wire mesh installed beneath CL4FIRE Code-96™ jacketing. It is a mandated requirement and outlined by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) and is the only product allowed to meet protection, integrity, and movement criteria of NFPA-96 for both normal building temperatures and hot fire exposures.
Single 38mm (1 1⁄2”) thick layer installation of CL4FIRE Code-96™ wrap allows for minimum 23cm (9”) clearance from ductwork to combustibles. 76mm (3”) overlaps at all single layer installation joints installed as outlined in QAI listed system F-401-1-1 for up to a 2-hour fire rating.
